Dexter

My boy Dexter

I adopted Dexter right off the street, where he was walking with a foster team, literally before his last ever trip to the pound. He came to live here, a big pup without manners, incorrectly fed, stomach issues, and a major amount of insecurities. However, his bad habits and deep rooted issues are almost a thing of the past. Dexy's separation anxiety is barely present now - at least it doesn’t end in utter destruction anymore. His alleged  killer instinct, when it came to small creatures, never materialized. He adapted to our routine and grew (and grew) into a gorgeous, loving, funny and attentive lad who loves his runs in the woods as much as playtime with other dogs - or humans (close second). Although his manners are mostly excellent now, he still loves talking back at times. That’s ok though. I’m willing to listen, if he has a point. Dexter is just gorgeous and gets lots of attention when out on walks but he is taking it all in his stride. Love him to bits. 💙

Update: Sadly I had to let my Dexter go on Dec 28, 2024. He was not well in the end but handled it for as long as he could, like the trooper he was. My heart shattered. He was the last of my pack to depart. I was so blessed with my lot and I will forever be grateful for them, so there won’t be any more dog’s for me.
